A letter from America...
By Emily Dickos
Monday, 27 March 2006

Hope all is well on the other side of the Atlantic. Affie is currently sorting through mounds of CDs, so I’m offering my services as your weekly entertainment. Some of you might be wondering who the hell I am. That’s my fault. I’m the artist formerly known as Dr Dickos. That’s right – you know you like the shameless, dirty advise I give. You know you want it back. I’m here to help, my luvvies.

While I’ve been in hiding, I’ve discovered the lovely world of myspace.com. For those of you out of the loop, myspace is a blend of Friends Reunited and a meat market all in one. I’m not out there scoping dates – I prefer to maintain contact with my friends. You can blog, post irritating bulletins for mates to read, or just show off your dirty bits to an adoring audience.  Check out my page at www.myspace.com/journogirl.  I’m also working on a page for uk-fusion –www.myspace.com/ukfusion.  There might be some interesting ‘bits’ to be found. ;)

Right, then. I’ve recently realised how much I dislike people, and living in America. Trust me, it really sucks. Our country is being run by a fucktard, the economy is in shambles, and we’re responsible for killing lots of young men. Rather than focusing on the negative, I thought I’d come up with a list of things that don’t suck. Here goes:

  • The Aristocrats – has to be the funniest movie I’ve seen in ages.100 comedians, 1 filthy joke.  “This guy goes into a talent agent, and tells him about this great family act….”
  • Ghostman on First by Rebuilt – the debut album by the Indianapolis based indi-rock band. Amazing talent, wonderful guys.
  • The Flavor of Love – Public Enemy’s Flavor Flav is looking for a lady to wear his grill of love. It’s just as cheesy as one could imagine, but damned addictive. Found on VH-1. Should be making its way over there soon.
  • Roger Federer – need I say more?
  • Curious George soundtrack by Jack Johnson & Friends – always genius.
  • Christopher Moore – the funniest damned author around. His latest, A Dirty Job, is a smash, but he’ll never top the genius of Lamb: the Gospel Accoring to Biff, Christ’s Childhood Pal.
  • My boyfriend. I had to sneak that one in. J

I do hope you check out some of my faves, and spread the word about the myspace site.

Smell you later.

-E
