I've got flu and an irritating cough. It's not bed-ridden serious flu but it's not enough to warrant skiving off work and it plays a big part in sleep deprivation. Nonetheless, I've battled through the weekend, updating the website and spazzing around on my MySpace page. And watching episodes of Green Wing, series 1. And Hollyoaks omnibus.

Now while I'm on the subject of the soap opera of beautiful people, I've just got to say something about the dippy character, Carmel - couldn't they find anyone less hideous than her? Another thing I am quite annoyed about is the footwear her character wears in her job as a beautician - heels, wedges, the lot! When I did my make-up course, I was expected to wear the full beautician uniform/kit in class as I would in a professional salon (very similar to Carmel's - a white tunic, that sort of thing) with flat shoes because of health and safety. I think you'll find all salons practise that same rule so what's with the goof-up Hollyoaks' scriptwriters and researchers?? Ahem.

I would like to take this opportunity to apologise wholeheartedly to Daniel Brigham for constantly using his mugshot with his reviews. Unfortunately there seems to be a shortage of artwork available and strangely enough, it's always for his reviews so under the time constraints I'm under, I've resorted to filling the gap with his visage - side profile shot, as you can see.  

Any way, I will have to stop right here because I'm about to have a coughing fit and therefore am in no fit state to continue this rather dull editorial. Still, at least it's on time - makes a change, doesn't it?
