Description: The beautiful Corr sisters (and brother Jimbo) who have sold a staggering 25 million albums worldwide and have spanned a 15 year career return to remind us exactly why. Which means? An easy cash-in for the festive season from the siblings off the emerald isle. Is it much cop? Do I sense a feeling of deja-vu? Well, yes because a greatest hits album from the Corrs was first released five years ago and this 20-track collection (with a few remixes thrown in) is no different but then again, who’s going to remember? The Corrs themselves probably don’t. How many good tracks? At a push, I can only recognise seven songs. Two are listenable but one’s a Fleetwood Mac song. If you haven’t switched off by the time you’ve reached this sentence, they are ‘Breathless’ and ‘Dreams’, the first single that catapulted The Corrs to mainstream success. And the worst? Please don’t tempt me. Biggest disappointment? The whole thing – why bother? Verdict: Dreams? It's what nightmares are made of. (½/5) |
