Coming from the record label that gave us The Kills and Sons and Daughters (not to mention the over-played Franz Ferdinand and Arctic Monkeys), Archie Bronson Outfit are yet another underrated pile of genius hailing from Domino Records. ‘Dart For My Sweetheart’ is lifted from their critically acclaimed album ‘Derang Derang’, which is still relatively unfound by the British music scene. With ‘Dart For My Sweetheart’ Archie Bronson outfit manage to create a raw and throbbing love ballad, which even Nick Cave would be envious of. Even though it is immediate, sore and bleeding it is by no means without melody. In fact it is with great effort that you will find yourself not humming along to the various demented utterances which leave Sam ‘The Cardinal’ Windett’s gob. Archie Bronson Outfit are an essential band for anyone seeking something exciting, and ‘Dart For My Sweetheart’ is the perfect illustration of that – ‘nuff said. (4/5)
