Sheryl Crow: C'mon America 2003
By Afsheen Shaikh

Sheryl Crow must be knackered.  Not only did she release a best of album last year, but she had been out and about on the road and across the seas to promote it.  Tough as old boots, she is.

C'mon America 2003 is a live DVD, recorded in Dayton Ohio last summer and covering the tracks of her classic compilation.  It is not, as the press release claims, "the first live DVD from this eight times Grammy Award winner."  There is Rockin' The Globe: Live, a concert Ms Crow recorded in Detroit.  Ayethangyeeeow!

In total, she serves up 21 live tracks plus squeezes in backstage footage and an on-tour diary...which is nice, if you're a fan.  All her memorable songs are here - 'Everyday Is A Winding Road', 'If It Makes You Happy', 'All I Wanna Do', 'My Favorite Mistake', 'A Change Would Do You Good', 'The First Cut Is The Deepest' and that is all there is to it.

Sometimes you wonder if these sort of videos are released just for the sake of it and not because they might bear some kind of significance.  Few offer a deal worth shelling out for (bonus featurettes, downloads, bloopers, videos).  This is just the usual, bog-standard live video with limited and quite simply dull features.  Yes, Sheryl can sing live but after approximately two hours of hearing her belt her lungs out and strum her guitar, there's not a lot else to it.  And it's certainly not something you would reach out to watch over and over again.
