They look like they wash their hair in lager. That’s they as in The Heights, made up of of Owain Ginsberg on vocals and guitar, lead guitarist Pearse Macintyre, Chris Carr on bass, and ver drummer Geraint Owen. If their (recent) life story is anything to go by, they probably do.
Hailing from Llanberis in North Wales, with the exception of North London’s Macintyre, the band rented a house together, turning the living room into a rehearsal studio. After a year’s worth of in-house gigs and parties, they were evicted and currently stay wherever they can when they’re not on tour.
Sounding not unlike a Kings of Leon reared in the shadow of Mount Snowdon rather than Tennessee’s Mount Juliet, The Heights are rock and roll. Right down to the post-concert kebab they’re still rather partial to tucking away. Well, they’ve got to soak up the copious amounts of booze their lifestyle demands somehow, haven’t they?
