The Ghost Frequency: Nightmare (City Rockers)
By Matthew Hirtes
Monday, 13 August 2007

Debutizing with this single are a north-east London quintet made up of Doran on vocals/synths, guitarist/fellow synth player Ross, Ben on drums, guitarist Murphy, and, keeping with the electroclash theme, Barney on synths/computers. Inspired by cult Japanese author Haruki Murakami, who writes like an adult-friendlier Lewis Carroll, and the dance-punk sounds of DFA Records, The Ghost Frequency are so now. So very now in fact that they run the risk of being out of fashion as quickly as they are in. Though, if this apparition of a funkier Horrors making a dance record is anything to go by, it’s a risk well worth taking.
