Don’t let the Rockyesque video this single fool you. Nor the Jonathan-Donahue-sounding vocals. What appears to be America’s latest Great White Hope actually hails from Newport Pagnell. The first single to be taken from hidden-gem debut album Puddle City Racing Lights finds the artist formally known at Matthew Thomas Dillon at home in the exalted company of his influences, the likes of The Eels, Elliott Smith, and not forgetting Mercury Rev of course.
