Amazingly, it’s been 10 years since Natalie was left bound and broken on the floor, singing her socks (and everything else) off in the daytime-radio fixture ‘Torn’, a great little number which it’s hard not to sing along to even now. Apparently she’s had three whole albums in those 10 years… really? Can’t say I noticed. Any way, that seems to be enough to justify a Greatest Hits album, from which we have this new single, ‘Glorious’.
Hubris is a terrible thing, and inevitably this by-the-numbers guitar pop ditty is a country mile from being glorious, but it’s quite nice, inoffensive, and fits well with a relaxing summer’s day. Ultimately, though, it’s got the longevity of a daily contact lens – use once, then throw away.
