You may be under the impression Iceland is an otherwordly place. Populated by pixiesque, emotional women and camp, emotional men. Blame your preconceptions on Bjork and Trabant, if you like.
As it turns out, Iceland is like anywhere else. Take Hafnarfjordur, the Reykjavik suburb, where teen-angst-fired Jakobinarina hail from. It’s like any burb you’d care to mention in the UK or US, full of cul-de-sacs both physical and mental.
To alleviate the boredom, vocalist Gunnar, Heimir on guitar, fellow guitarist Hallberg, Bjorgvin on bass, keyboardist Agust, and Sigurdur on drums formed a punk-rock band. Well, hell, what did you expect? They’re a garage band; they come from garage land.
