Hearing “singing mama’s songs, when the lights come on, she said gotta keep walking, keep walking”, it’s clear Mason owes a lot to his mother, folk artist Jemima James. Whether it’s chiefly nature or nurture is unclear, yet what’s indisputable is that the parties James used to hold with hubby Michael Mason, a country-tinged vocalist in his own right, where guests took it in turns at the mike freed Willy to follow his folks into a life of music. And this latest single delivers the latest instalment of Mason the younger’s series of socially-realistic song-stories.
