It would be impossible for (Mark) Stoney to sound more like Brett Anderson than he does on this single. There’s the shared affectation of Bowie, along with the camp falsetto. On additional tracks ‘Good Timing’ and ‘Round Here’, to appear on the soundtrack of the forthcoming psychological thriller Hades Bridge, Stoney though proves he’s no mere impersonator, dipping into country music history and Madchester’s past for further influences.
