A working-class hero is something to be, as a famous, but not famously, middle-class Liverpudlian once sang. The latest pretenders to John Lennon’s throne hail from Coventry and on this latest single they move one step closer to the status of inner-city saints. Although you would be forgiven for thinking they came from Woking, such is their sound’s proximity to The Jam’s, erm, trademark jam.
