Ready To Go!

Hello!  I’m here – and I know you’ve been dying to see me return.  10 May marked the farewell to the old uk-fusion.com and 07 June welcomes the sexy, new revamp (the boldness an emphasis on myself naturally).

Well, I’m not entirely sure when you will actually read this because at the time of going live, the old site was still coming up, and it has been for the last three weeks and yes, we thought it would be wiped off.  To cut a long story short, we have moved servers and the reason why many of you keep logging onto the old site is because we have not been able to switch to the new server.  In theory, it should have happened today but like the British transport system, we are experiencing some major delays.  Tsk!

I won’t dwell too much on this tiresome topic because I can’t be bothered and because I have got other more important things to mention – it’s just, I don’t know where to start!  Eek!

It would seem I have been on a break for three weeks.  Partly, yes and partly, no.  Firstly, my computer had to be sent off for a minor repair that took 10 days.  Ten days, I ask you!  How pathetic.  I had to resort to using a pen and notepad to do interviews, of which one of them was with Amy Lee of Evanescence.  Yes, that’s right, Amy.  We’re playing with the big boys in the league now.

Evanescence were in the UK on the leg of their European tour, playing one night at Wembley and I couldn’t go!  I had the tickets, jumped into my car and had only got down to the end of the road before the car stopped. It stopped!  Just like that!  And on a full tank!  Suspecting the battery was flat, I called the rescue service, who sent a chav round 40 minutes later.  A chav.  *shudder*

Attempting to suss out what was wrong, the pleb had the audacity to ask me if I had filled the car with unleaded petrol.  I felt like asking him if he knew how to do his job because it emerged soon after that he hadn’t a fucking clue.  (Oh, my first swear word on the new site – oops!)  He also managed to wink at me too.  Yuck!

Concluding it “may be” a fault in the fuel pump (or likely that he wanted to get home in time to watch Eastenders), he couldn’t repair the car on site, and that it would need to go to a mechanic.  By midnight and one van and two tow-trucks later (don’t ask), I finally walked back to my home, missing the entire gig.  And just so you know, the easiest and most logical way to get to Wembley from where I live was by car.  Can I get some sympathy, please?  I was promised crates of Lucozade (by no less than two individuals) and both have failed to deliver.  Tsk!

By the way, it turned out there was no serious fault with the fuel pump so there was no need to replace it.  The cause was very minor and the car is running smoothly.  Enough of that.  What else has been going on?  Everyone at uk-fusion has been working really hard so I am very thankful and appreciative of their efforts especially to Sok Yee for designing the site.  You've done a grand job - thank you very much.

What do you think?  The amount of content available may seem a bit minimal but over the coming weeks/months/years, we will be shifting every other page left to do onto the new site.  There will be new and updated profiles for you to marvel/drool/pant over and everyone will be very, very happy 'cos I say so.

If you have any suggestions, comments or perhaps you’re feeling abusive for no particular reason, you can email me or leave a message on the forum.  And if you forget to read the editorials, you will be able to back-track on them in the archive section under Features.  You won’t find any right now of course.  By the way, Dr Lake is back...

I am going to leave now.  I would have told you about the invasion of slugs in my back garden and how I am defeating them with blue pellets, and also about the sneaky squirrel who manages to unlock the bird feeder and make off with all the nuts but I’d like you to be begging for more so maybe next time, eh?  If you really must insist, take a peek at this.  I rock.

See you next week!
