If Cat Power’s recent Jukebox is already confirmed as the best covers album of 2008, Plant and Krauss’ Raising Sand, a bewitching compilation of country-rock standards, released late last year is undoubtedly 2007’s finest. Plant has gone on record (again, boom boom) to say this latest single was the track that transformed himself, Krauss, and the various session musicians into a fully-fledged group. And one would sincerely hope his Led Zeppelin side project doesn’t overly delay RP from hooking up with this band of brothers (and sisters) again.
