Description: Another year, another Kitsuné Maison Compilation. Number 4 came out last June and, if anything, its successor is even better. Fischerspooner make a welcome return to the cutting-edge-end of the house-music spectrum. Joined rowdily at the party by the likes of Does It Offend You, Yeah? who couldn’t be more in your face than if they went eyeball to eyeball with you. Which means? Skint? Anti-social? Have the greatest night out without leaving the comfort of your own house by blasting this out of your stereo. Is it much cop? See above. And below. That means yes, very much so, by the way. How many good tracks? 18 out of 17. As the bonus track, the TEPR remix of Yelle’s ‘A Cause Des Garçons’ gets in on the act. And maintains the standard set by the previous artists and their remixers. And the worst? In these Holy Moly times it’s almost a given that we have to savage everything and anything. That’s not the case here. As this album will elicit unconditional love. Biggest disappointment? That the accompanying tour featuring autoKratz, David E. Sugar, Gildas & Masaya, and Digitalism doesn’t take in Las Palmas. Maybe next year, guys? Don’t be a stranger now. Verdict: Stand well back. Kitsuné have their finger so firmly on the pulse, they’re liable to burst a vein or two. Things are gonna get messy. (4¾/5)
