Recently pop-culture website retroCRUSH took it upon themselves to collate what they reckoned to be “The 25 Greatest Duets of All Time”. If they had postponed the feature until, ooh, say the 25th February, then acoustic legends Williams and MacColl would surely have joined the likes of Strummer and Cash, Fitzgerald and Armstrong, and Gabriel and Bush in retroCRUSH’s line-up. For this single, off their forthcoming Two album, is to folk music what Miles Davis is to jazz, what Public Enemy is to rap, and what Beethoven is to classical i.e. its very exemplification.
