Unashamedly pop, this London-based duo have recently been championed by Sean Rowley on his Joy of Music radio show. Prior to that, they were approached by Innocent Records. A label which continues to provide a home to Atomic Kitten.
As Miles Copland, one half of the band, said at the time: “It’s almost as if that is the perfect label for us. It’s the most uncoolest label you could want to be on.” Instead, after a fallout with Little League, they’ve set up Wonderfulsound to release the records they want to rather than the ones they were contractually obliged to.
Little League might beg to differ, but The Superimposers insist this is their follow-up to their eponymous 2005 debut, itself largely a collection of already-released EPs and singles. Missing, put out a year later, was “finished” by one Boston Rodriquez after label and band’s relationship entered a point of no return. After the acrimony, comes the sweetness from a group who resemble a Mark Ronson who prefers to record original material than covers as much as they do a non-fraternal Webb Brothers.
