The Cave Singers: Dancing On Our Graves (Matador)
By Matthew Hirtes
Monday, 25 February 2008

Take vocalist Pete Quirk, one-time singer with post-grungers Hint Hint, Derek Fudesco on guitar, formerly of punk revivalists Pretty Girls Make Graves, and Marty Lunt, erstwhile drummer of 80s wannabees Cobra High, and what do you get? A freaking folk band. This single comes off the Seattle trio’s debut album, Invitation Songs – a first release that’s unfeasibly accomplished for artists new to the genre.

(4¼/5)

Exclusive interview with the wonderful Tom McRae
