If breakthrough single ‘Let’s Dance To Joy Division’ sounded like a barely-disguised reworking of The Koala Brothers theme tune, this latest track off the Gold-selling debut album The WOMBATS Proudly Present…A Guide to Love, Loss and Desperation likewise owes as much to catchy CBeebies jingles as it does to indie heritage. Excitable vocalist Matthew Murphy narrates the tale of a date gone wrong, culminating in a forehand to the face. And in common with a slap in the chops, this is another hit, hit, hit for the Liverpool trio.
