Following the best-selling DVD and VHS releases of Live At The Top Of The Tower and Phoenix Nights, funnyman Peter Kay returns with his latest collection of gags, recorded live this year during his Mum Wants A Bungalow Tour.
As you’d expect, this 80 minute set is crammed full of wall-to-wall gags, which bring fits of laughter from his sell-out hometown crowd, a crowd, which includes his mother and grandmother, who are the butt of many of his jokes.
Peter tries to explain why you always find little boys sliding across the floor on their knees at weddings, why women fail at weight-watchers and why Ginger Nuts are the best for dunking in tea. His observational humour is top class entertainment and only a very dull person would be able to resist a giggle when he goes into detail about the fascination of watching Bullseye every Sunday evening back in the 80s.
For an encore, Kay rounds off the show with unquestionably the finest impersonation of a drunken wedding guest, before singing ‘Oh Danny Boy’, having inhaled the contents of a helium-filled balloon.
But don’t take my word for it, get down shops (as Peter would say it), and buy a copy. You won’t be disappointed. (5/5)
