Three years since releasing their first DVD The Urethra Chronicles, Blink 182 discharge (sorry!) the follow-up (the rather ingeniously titled) The Urethra Chronicles II - Harder, Faster, Faster, Harder. The minds behind such titles as that, Take Off Your Pants & Jacket and Enema Of The State, are Travis Barker, Tom DeLonge and (sigh!) Mark Hoppus. Together, they have put together what they feel shows Blink 182 in the best (or possibly worst) light.
Applauded for their outlandish but hilarious videos, The Urethra Chronicles II is a feature-length documentary chronicling the birth and growth of Take Off Your Pants & Jacket. What we see is Travis, Tom and Mark goofing around, talking utter nonsense and somewhere in-between all that mess are a few videos and live performances. Makes you wonder what ended up on the cutting room floor and subsequently in the bin...
Featuring interviews (of which some bear no real fascination - Travis drooling over his motor car collection, Tom's obsession for UFOs), larking about backstage and in the studio, and 'Making Of...' their videos, the Blink 182 adventure is a treat for fans. Also included is the never-before-released video for 'Stay Together For The Kids', as well as the second version of the same track, 'The Rock Show' and concert footage from their tour last year.
They don't come up with anything clever or mind-blowing, but there are plenty of laughs especially on the making of 'First Date', which is also included as a video in the bonus footage. Featuring a parody of the Bee Gees and Tom sporting a shocking mullet and moustache (very white trailer park trash!), this is definitely the most entertaining video Blink 182 have come up with so far. Oh and by the way, their lovely wives also make an appearance on here. (3/5)
