The Darkness: Love Is Only A Feeling (Must Destroy/Atlantic)
By Afsheen Shaikh

Cock rock turns to power ballad for The Darkness' fourth outing from Permission To Land, the astute 'Love Is Only A Feeling'.  Astute because it's riddled with guitar solos identical to anything from Guns N' Roses.

Forget lighters in the air, it's penis extension air guitars for four minutes and 23 seconds.  You name them, they've pinched from and yet it's an epic in its own right.

The Darkness demonstrate no shame for their crimes especially in the tongue-in-cheek promo video, filmed on the cliffs of the Blue Mountains down under.  No cat-suit for Justin this time though, just PVC chaps and clip-on hair extensions from the My Little Pony range.  Good to see the royalties are being spent well then.  For everything else, this is truly wonderful and their finest single to date.  What more do you want me to say?
