Supplies of catsuits are rocketing as The Darkness tailor yet another sequined splendor of stadium rock. Never ones to shy away, this solid declaration of schmaltz is glammed up to the nines and bursting at the seams with Justin Hawkin's petrifying shrills with an axe-wielding solo that'll have most of us reaching for our air-guitars.
Together with a side-splitting video (heart-shaped hot tub, a naked Justin rubbing himself up against a towel monster and a tiara that zaps a giant octopus into oblivion) and two unreleased b-sides ('Makin' Out and 'Physical Sex'), this ought to whack some excitement into music and hey, it's British.
Vivacious, courageous and oodles of fun, The Darkness will continue to soar with records that poke you in the eye with such buoyancy and flair. I believe thumbs up are what we're looking for here. (4½/5)
