Description: 42 classroom classics from the 80s courtesy of Friends Reunited. Which means? A compilation of memorable hits from one's childhood (or in this case, the school disco), brought to you by the website that aims to reunite you with your old school buddies - or so you can have a nose to see what those snobby bitches are up to (sorry, I'm getting personal now). Is it much cop? Actually, it's pretty good because every track has been selected and voted for by members of the site. Clearly the 80s was the most popular decade (and also indicates the ages of those who participated in the selection process), but people of all ages can appreciate the quality of these tracks...and thankfully those who voted had good taste. How many good tracks? Out of a total of 42 tracks, about 30. Top tracks are care of Wham!, ABC, Duran Duran, Dexys Midnight Runners, The Communards, Go West, Rick Astley, A-Ha, Tranvision Vamp, Culture Club - surely you catch my drift? Helpfully, the album has been divided into two halves - the up-beat ones to dance along to with your mates and the slow numbers to smooch along to....should any of those have held fond memories for you. And the worst? I never really held much for The Cure and anything by Simply Red (in this case 'If You Don't Know Me By Now') makes my toes curl. Biggest disappointment? Why didn't anyone vote for 'Gold' or 'True' by Spandau Ballet? Verdict: With huge companies offering to buy the website off the couple who founded it, there's no doubt Friends Reunited is hot property. Whether they decide to sell out or not, this collection will reaffirm your desire to re-live your memories. (3½/5)
