Silence in court, judge in session. Now, Mr Saunders, please raise your hand and repeat after me: I promise to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
I promise to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
You stand accused of enjoying the new single from The Rasmus, in spite of your better judgement. What do you have to say for yourself?
It’s true that they are to goth-rock what Busted are to heavy metal. The lyrics are a mass of clichés and the bad eyeliner doesn’t hide the fact that this is simple pop/rock that’s been done hundreds of times before.
In my mitigation, though, I’d like to say it’s a fun, upbeat and catchy chart-oriented rock song with just a hint of a darker side to it. The Rasmus aren’t hardened music criminals, like Blazin’ Squad or Cheeky Girls, they just want to make pre-teen angst fun.
So how do you plead?
Guilty as charged, your honour. Please go easy on the sentence, after all it doesn’t actually hurt anyone…
