What’s it all about – Alfie?  Well, it's a re-make of the 60s classic that starred Michael Caine, only now the honour has gone to Jude Law and the soundtrack is provided by one wrinkly by the name of Mick Jagger.

If Jagger were to audition for the 'older person' category on The X-Factor he'd be laughed out of the room. Simon Cowell would look at him like he was the biggest idiot on the planet, Louis Walsh would shake his head and ask what Jagger was thinking and Sharon Osbourne would say she liked him just to piss the other two off.

Jagger has a weird voice, craggy face and distinctly strange dance moves so why is he (still) so big? I can see how it worked with The Rolling Stones (a band with a great anti-establishment attitude) but as a solo artist I just don't get the appeal. (Ask Sophie Dahl! – Ed)

As soundtracks go this is bad, bland and boring. Mick moans through the songs in his usual manner and the tracks vary so little in style and substance you could be forgiven for thinking it was one extremely long song instead of an album. I've heard that the movie is quite good. I wish I could say the same about the score.
