Ducks and cops

Oh dearie me, I’m exhausted! Never have I had such a hectic Easter weekend, or any weekend for that matter. It all started last Thursday night with a wedding reception, which was followed by going out and about in London on Good Friday, to a restaurant on Saturday and catching up with friends on Sunday and Monday. Sure enough, the gruelling schedule caught up with me today; not even two cups of coffee could wake me up.

Ah, but it was nice few days – pleasant wedding reception (food was great!), feeding the ducks in Regents Park, running in and out of the fountains in the grounds of Somerset House and getting stopped by the police late one night. Yes, that’s right, for the first time in my life, the cops pulled me over. I didn’t like the look of the female officer but luckily she didn’t get out of the car. Instead a young male copper asked me if I knew why I had been stopped. (It was like being questioned at school for cheating on a test or something.)

Well, it wasn’t because I was speeding, which he commended me on but the fact that my vehicle was crossing the white lines in the road. (I’ve totally forgotten my Highway Code so forgive me that I can’t recall what you call those markings!) I think I also wasn’t slowing down for the sodding speed bumps, which you can never seen at night. Any way, he asked if I was alright and then told me to have a nice evening and that was it!

I should be grateful I got off lightly but it’s not as if I’m careful when I drive, making sure I don’t speed or park in the wrong spaces. I just had no idea a police car was following me until it turned on its flashing blue lights and more to the point, had nothing better to do than to stop me.

I’m sorry for the slow speed of updates to the site; it’s not good at all that we’re slacking (sorry, that’s just me). Well, I promise to make up for everything somehow. Any (sensible) suggestions please email me.

Oh, before I forget, Earth Girl gets a special mention for investing her hard-earning cash on an iRiver – that’s the generation of MP3 player all iPodders are envious of. Good girl! I hope you’re very happy.
