Hat's more like it!

Ouch! I’ve got half a dozen mosquito bites on my left shoulder blade – and it hurts! Think the little buggers snuck into my room while I was sleeping with the window open. Has anyone else been bitten by mozzies? Urgh, the feeling is horrible.

Firstly, thank you to everyone who phoned, texted (including a random caller I don't know at all) and emailed to find out if I was alright after last Thursday’s tragic bomb attacks in London.  Lisa was supposed to be flying from Aberdeen to London to spend a long weekend with myself (having not seen her for almost two years), and we were going to take the choo-choo train to Brighton for the day but all this was swiftly cancelled. The fact it took me four hours to get home on that day is insigificant; I’m so lucky that my friends, family and I’m alright, and my thoughts go out to those who aren’t/weren’t so fortunate.

Up until Thursday, it was fairing out to be a pretty good week. Was thrashed at Cluedo (OK, that wasn’t a good thing) but what was cool, was that I was given another item of head gear to add to my collection – number 32 in the form of a bandana! A red one too. Big-hearted Hungo (or Jonathan, as he is known to his mother) pictured here hard at work, sacrificed one bandana from his soon-to-be-ever-expanding range. You see, he has made no secret of being a huge Bon Jovi fan...I mean, he can barely contain himself at the mention of the Jovi and I admit it, 'Livin' On A Prayer' rocks. Make sure you wear your bandana for your birthday, Jonathan or this photo will be posted on every computer desktop in the office including your boss’s…

Did you know, the first single Jonathan ever bought was Culture Beat's 'Mr Vain'? Or it might have been Snap's 'Rhythm Is A Dancer'... Or maybe it was both because he couldn't make his mind up at the time. Why am I telling you all about Jonathan? Probably because he doesn't stop dropping hints every week about the possibility of getting a mention on this page. Well, now you've got at least five, Hungo AND it's your birthday this week. Can things get any better? They just did but not any more after all that.

Don’t mind me with these animal pictures, by the way. I went to Longleat Safari Park in wonderful Wiltshire on the weekend and blimey, it was so busy! There were serious traffic jams in the lions and tigers enclosures. I saw giraffes, llamas, rhinos, ostriches, deers, monkeys, otters, rabbits (??) and ONE sodding tiger. And a pride of lionesses and one lion (the pimp daddy, no doubt) sedated and collapsed in one big heap. No, wait, one woke up only to switch over to lying on her other side. Charming (!) I mean, you pay all that money and what do you get – ONE tiger and sleepy lions! Where was the white tiger they promised?!

Longleat is such a huge park – acres upon acres of land and about a dozen animals in total. I feel quite cheated, actually. And there were no elephants or grizzly bears. Prrffft! God, this place is as crap as London Zoo. In fact the expression on this monkey’s completely sums up my feeling about my trip to Longleat. That and having to drive 250 miles for it. I was out like a light as soon as my head hit the pillow, you know.

Before I go, I would like to wish Emily a big happy birthday for today – 21 again, you sweetie, make the most of it. And happy birthday to you too, Jonathan. And James. A lot of birthdays this week - I'm going to be broke...
